Privacy policy

Draft — under review

Drafted 2026-09-15.

Who this policy covers

CE Tools is an engineering-practice platform operated from Australia. This policy covers the information CE Tools collects through the CE Tools web application, its REST API and its MCP server, for every organisation and person that uses them.

What we collect

  • Sign-in. CE Tools uses Google Sign-In. It reads only the name and email address on the Google account used to sign in — nothing else on that account is read.
  • Account and organisation data. The organisations, projects, calculations, inspections and other records a person creates or uploads while using CE Tools, and the membership and role information that controls who in an organisation can see them.
  • Usage and audit data. A record of significant actions (sign-in, changes to membership, roles and entitlements, calculation runs) kept for security and for the audit trail an engineering practice is expected to hold.

How we use it

Personal information is used to operate CE Tools: to authenticate a sign-in, to show an organisation its own data and nobody else's, to maintain the audit trail, and to respond to support requests. CE Tools does not sell personal information, and does not use it to train any model outside the product.

Who we process data on behalf of

Project, calculation and inspection data belongs to the organisation that created it. CE Tools processes that data as a service provider acting on the organisation's instructions, not as the owner of it. An organisation's administrators control who in that organisation can see or export its data.

Where data is stored

CE Tools data is stored with Supabase in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region, and the application is hosted on Vercel. Both are contracted service providers, not independent recipients of the data — neither uses it for their own purposes.

CEAI Desk installers and updates are downloaded from GitHub's file servers. CE Tools checks that you or your workstation may have the file, then sends your browser or the Desk to a short-lived GitHub link; GitHub sees the download request, including your IP address, and nothing else from CE Tools.

Sharing

CE Tools does not sell personal information and does not share it with third parties except: the service providers above, who process it only to provide the service; where the law requires disclosure; or where an organisation's own administrator exports or shares its own organisation's data.

Your choices

A person can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information CE Tools holds about them by contacting us at the address below. Deleting an account does not delete an organisation's project or calculation records, which belong to the organisation.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the product changes. The drafted date above is the last time it was written or reviewed.
